Frances Rivera

Director of Family Ministry

Frances Rivera (she/her) is a proud Nuyorican spirit, born and raised in the heartbeat of the Bronx. Now rooted in Washington, DC, she walks life’s journey alongside her beloved husband and their dynamic, creative young adults. A Montessorian with over two decades of experience in early childhood education, Frances holds an AMS Infant and Toddler Certificate, and finds deep joy in nurturing the growth and wonder of young children.

Her devotion to families and communities is woven throughout her work as an educator, advocate, and parent-coaching maestra. For seven years, Frances worked in partnership with families in the South Bronx as the founding heart behind Longwood Village—a warm, close-knit community grounded and centered on family engagement, wellness, and collective care. At home, she served for a decade in the children’s ministry at Restoration Community Church, founded by her husband, where she gently cultivated rhythms of connection, prayer, and togetherness.

Frances earned her Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Lehman College. Through writing, dancing, cooking, and the joy of hosting gatherings, she continues to honor everyday moments as sacred—offering them as soulful expressions of love, learning, and liberation.
