Join us for a three-part seminar exploring the Indigenous history of the land now known as Washington, D.C., originally home to the Anacostan, Piscataway, and other Native peoples. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of local tribes, the lasting impacts of the Doctrine of Discovery, and the larger ideological forces that shaped America's treatment of Native communities. Together, we’ll explore significant Indigenous sites around D.C. and consider how people of faith can honor Native stories and work toward justice. The seminar meets on Wednesdays, May 14, 21, and 28, from 7–9pm.
